AffiliationCrossway is part of a family of churches passionate about advancing the Great Commission through church planting. This family of churches, known as
Sovereign Grace Ministries, helps to facilitate partnerships among pastors, operate a Pastors College, host events, and publish books, music, and other resources. Sovereign Grace churches are theologically united as evangelical, Reformed, and charismatic (read more). Currently our family includes about 95 churches. Most of them are in the U.S., with some in Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, western Europe, eastern Africa, eastern Asia, and Australia. In all, we partner to varying degrees with pastors and church-planting networks in 21 countries.

1 re:newCollege & Singles MinistryAt its inception Crossway was founded with a vision to reach the world through the UGA campus. Our re:new ministry continues to spearhead this vision on campus and within the Athens community. Led through the avenues of small groups, on-campus evangelism, and student-to-student outreach, God continues to enrich our fellowship with opportunities to serve and be served by these young men and women.Find out more on the re:new Facebook page.

CrossFireMiddle & High School MinistryThe goal of CrossFire is to help our youth grow into young men and women who love Jesus, live for Jesus, and share Jesus. In addition to our social activities and discipleship meetings, we also have monthly meetings involving both youth and parents. The youth and parent meetings are designed to strengthen the parent/teen relationship as they learn, share, and apply God's word together.

Our HistoryIn 1999 a few men from Athens made a trip Orlando, Florida to meet with the leadership of Metro Life Church. These men were envisioned and hopeful to someday have a Sovereign Grace church planted in the greater Athens area. After a number of meetings and much prayer, God made it clear His desire was to have a new church planted in Athens and Paul Cooke was chosen to lead the church plant. After 10 months at the Sovereign Grace Pastors College in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Paul and Darby moved to the Athens area in June of 2001. After 3 months of preliminary meetings, Crossway Fellowship Church held its first public meeting the Sunday after 9/11, 2001 in Oconee Youth Playhouse. God has done many great things during Crossway's first decade. Currently, the Lord has opened the door for us to meet at Faith Presbyterian Church in Watkinsville and adopt a non-traditional meeting time. We have found the facility at Faith to serve as a strategic location between Athens and Watkinsvillebe and it has been a tremendous blessing for our children's ministry. Additionally, the afternoon meeting time has provided continued opportunities to care for college students. As we look to the future, Crossway longs to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ in Athens and beyond.

BeliefsAt Crossway we treasure the Bible as God's inspired Word. We believe that the Bible tells us the story of mankind's fall into sin and God's determination to put things right through the work of his Son, Jesus. We are convinced that all of Scripture points to the person and work of Jesus, highlighting the salvation he offers to men and women in need of a Savior. Crossway Kids"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." (Psalm 127:3)As parents, we have the privilege and responsibility of passing the gospel on to the next generation. The highest calling of a Christian parent is to help their kids see their need for a Savior and point them toward Jesus as the One who saves. Our Crossway Kids ministry seeks to support parents in this calling by providing safe, fun, age-appropriate environments in which kids can learn about Jesus.
